The company

 

Phil Ford developed a sauce in 1987 while trying to imitate his mother’s recipe for a Western North-Carolina sauce. His friends and family raved about it but Phil never believed anyone would actually pay for it! Then in 1992, Phil’s sister-in-law Sandi persuaded him into becoming partners to bringing his fantastic sauce to market. The sauce was an instant success and since then they have introduced award winning peanuts to their range. The inspiration behind the name Bone Suckin’ came from people doing what they had never done before; suck on the bones to savour every last bit of flavour!

 

The product

 

The Bone Suckin’ range includes an extensive range of all-natural, gluten free sauces that are great for grilling, marinating and dipping. There are also four varieties of flavoured nuts: margarita, chardonnay, merlot and fire dancer jalapeno. These nuts are packed with flavour and have been awarded a great taste award by the Guild of Fine Foods. Hot and regular salsas, a rib rub and mustards are also included in the range.

Why we love it

 

This range of sauces is truly versatile and individual. We also love the fact that they are free from artificial nasties. Instead they are naturally sweetened with honey and molasses and abundant in flavour from apple cider vinegar and natural spices. The mustard is a personal favourite of the CEO who eats it with just about anything; for him it is a perfect amalgamation of sweet and hot! We also love the "fire dancer" nuts as they are crunchy finest grade ’A’ American peanuts with a spicy flavour- a fantastic snack.
